Forest School

Forest school is an immersive experience in the beautiful Asherwood Nature Preserve (an ACRES property). This unique learning opportunity allows parent volunteers to join the guides as children explore creeks, woods, and ponds in almost all weather. Forest school students learn to identify plants, bird calls, and animal tracks, while also gaining the coordination and self-assuredness that comes with climbing and hiking outdoors. The learning opportunities are limitless!

This year, we will be adding a Monday-Friday Afternoon Kindergarten option (for students who turn 5 by August 1st). For this option, parents would pick up their child from Forest School and drop them off at The Montessori School at WPC (123 W Hill Street, Wabash). From 1:00-3:00pm, these children would join the kindergarteners from our Children's House for dedicated kindergarten enrichment and outdoor exploration downtown!

Program Options:

Monday - Wednesday, 8:30 - 11:45 (at Asherwood)

Monday - Friday, 12:00 - 3:00 (at TMS, must be 5 by October 1st)

Requirements: Children must be potty-trained.*

*Exceptions may be made based on parent-admin conversation.
